Our Honourary Chairman, Dr.R.Thiagarajan, M.A, Ph.D, is the former Professor and Head of the Postgraduate and Research Dept of Sanskrit, (160 years old) Presidency College, Chennai. He has also specialized in the fields of Sahitya, Vyakarana, Alankara, Nyaya and Jyothisha and literatures. He has presented more than 1000 lectures at the educational academies, conducted 108 “Ratnadipika” programs in Doordarshan, Madras and presented more than 160 programmes in AIR. He has attended many National and International Seminars, conferences and symposiums. Dr.R.Thiagarajan is a Committee Member and prescribed Text books for Primary, Secondary and College Courses for Samskrit. Dr.R.Thiagarajan is also a Tamil and English Writer and wrote articles for Tamil and International Magazines. He is the brother’s son of Mr.T.Janakiraman, the famous writer and Sahitya Academy Winner. He has also published various books in Samskrit, Tamil and English, viz., Saradambacaritram in 2010 and Shiva Bhujanga Vyakhya in Sanskrit and Bhagavata Campu in English. He has also written dramas in Tamil and Sanskrit, edited & translated books in Tamil, Sanskrit and English of various authors of Sanskrit and other languages. He has received various honours like Samskrita Ratna, Ilakkiya Mani, Samskrita Rakshamani, Sri Yagnavalkiya Siromani and Kanva Ratna. He is a member & consultant for various literary bodies, associations & academic institutions. He has also featured in an US Magazine. He has organized many lectures, debates with doyens like Ma.Po.Sivagnanam, Ra.Su.Nallaperumal, Rajavelu, Rev.Father Ignatius Hridayam, Francis Clooney, Arcot Nawab. He has been appointed as a member of High Level Sanskrit Promotion Committee by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Dr.R.Thiyagarajan is also an Examiner of Post-Graduate Exams, M.Phil dissertations and Ph.D Thesis of various universities and autonomous colleges. Most recently, he has donated more than 2800 books worth more than Rs.5 Lakhs in various disciplines to library for reference and digitization. With such accolades to his credit, Dr.R.Thiagarajan is currently guiding the library in its endeavors to achieve the vision of Pujya Sri Swamiji. Dr.R.Thiagarajan is also giving lectures in you tubes in the you tube Channel of Swami Dayananda Saraswati Digital Library & Research Centre.
